FIYERO

ELPHABA

FIYERO

Don’t tell me that I am. You don’t have to lie to me.

FIYERO

It’s not lying, it’s looking at things another way. You and Glinda will make up—

            (ELPHABA hears a strange sound…)

ELPHABA

Shhh. Listen. Do you hear that? Sounds like somebody in pain.

FIYERO

No it’s just the wind.

ELPHABA

My sister’s in danger.

FIYERO

Wait, how do you know?

ELPHABA

I don’t know I just do. Oh!  

            (She then points to the sky terrified.)

FIYERO

What is it? What’s wrong?

ELPHABA

Look there. Don’t you see it?

FIYERO

No. What do you see?

ELPHABA

It doesn’t make any sense. It’s a house. But it’s—flying through the sky! I have to go to Nessa!

FIYERO

Wait, I’ll come with you.

ELPHABA

No, you mustn’t! it’s too dangerous!

FIYERO

Listen, my family has a castle out west in Kiamo Ko. No one’s been there for centuries expect those who watch over it. We have never lived in it.

ELPHABA

Where do you live?

FIYERO

The other castle.

ELPHABA

Oh, of course.

FIYERO

It’s the perfect hideout; secret passageways and tunnels. You’ll be safe there.

ELPHABA

We will see each other again, won’t we?

FIYERO

Elphaba, we’re gong to be together always. You can see houses flying through the sky, can’t you see that?
